Many people take the world known Capri boat tours from various ports along the Amalfi Coast. While Capri is beautiful and in a class of its own, the Amalfi Coast is amazing itself and breathtaking when seen by boat, kayak, SUP (Stand Up Paddle) or your choice of water craft. Daily group coastal tours are offered from Praiano by La Sibilla. Depending on the number of people in your group, you may choose to charter your own boat for less of the total group cost. Group tours are still affordable and a great way to see the coast. You just need to call ahead to make sure the daily group minimum is met, otherwise they won’t run a group tour for example with only 2 people. If you are staying in a hotel along the coast or in Praia, they can call ahead for you and book the tour.
If you are just looking to see the Emerald Grotto, hourly taxis are available from the port of Praiano for €10. Like the Blue Grotto of Capri, the Emerald Grotto is a must see. But if you have a few hours, it is highly recommended to do the full Amalfi boat tour for €30 per person. It departs daily (depending on weather and minimums) at 10:00am from Marina di Praia. It stops at the fjord of Furore and Emerald grotto, continuing along the coast and providing views of Cape of Conca, Marina di Conca, Ravello, Amalfi, Altrani, Minori, and Maori. On our trip, we stopped two times to swim in the crystal blue waters. It is breathtaking to see the Amalfi coast by sea and after a few hours and quick swim breaks, you are back in Praiano in time to grab lunch at 1pm.
